It’s the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary today so during my lunch hour I passed St James’s church in London’s Marylebone to light two candles in Mary’s honour. After all, her birth was the first step towards the redemption of humankind. That is why we call her Alma Redemptoris Mater & we owe her eternal praise and gratitude.
